Elect Collicutt for Council
Building Community Trust & Government Transparency
Powell River citizens expect transparency and accountability from elected officials. Councillors are elected to serve the people of their community with open minds, without personal bias or conflicts of interest in order to uphold democratic principles and build trust. Public trust in Council is gained by decision-making that is collaborative, transparent and fair, that considers the public interest and that is made in the best interests of our community. My goal is to build community trust with each decision made. To do that, I will let you know how and why I make my decisions in the most open and accountable way possible.

When elected, my pledge is to:
- support democratic processes that are inclusive, responsive, open and transparent
- support new policy to immediately double public input period time limit on Council and Committee of the Whole agendas
- rebuild trust by engaging in transparent and collaborative decision-making that balances the public interest
- support informative, inclusive and responsive public engagement sessions
- support open and transparent Council committee proceedings accessible to the public and Council; dissolve or restructure selective, in-camera committees or working groups that exclude information & discussion from other elected Councillors
- support improved policy to rise and report out in-camera decisions in a timely manner
